K.W. Barrett Elementary School is a Title 1 School in Arlington, VA. Barrett families play an important role in your child’s education. Please join staff and other families on December 13, 2024 in the school cafeteria for our Annual Title I School-Family Partnership Meeting from 9:15 am – 10:15 am. We will:
- Get informed about Barrett’s Title I Program, how it supports your child’s academic success, and what opportunities exist for family participation, partnership and input.
- Collect input to review and revise our School-Family Partnership Principles.
You can preview the materials of the meeting, review the partnership principles, and take the survey on website URL in advance of the meeting.
FYI: Our second School-Family Partnership of the year will happen in the Spring and will most likely revolve around what we discuss in this December’s meeting. So, please join us if you tomorrow if you wish to have input in this meeting and in our Spring meeting. Barrett families, please take a few moments to answer questions related to how our school can better engage with you in the coming school year. We value your input, so please help us out.

| September 6, 2024 | 9:15 am – 10:15 am | Routines and Expectations: Come meet Ms. Han, our school principal, and learn about the importance of starting off the school year with a routine that works best for your family and lends itself to allow you to introduce expectations that your child can achieve. |
| September 12, 2024 | 5 pm – 6:30 pm | Back–to-School Night: Parents come meet teachers to learn about grade level expectations for the year. |
| September 18, 2024 | 9:15 am – 10:15 am | Supporting English Learners: Come meet Ms. Kester, our school English Learner Specialist. She will introduce us to the school’s grade level English Learner teachers, talk to us about their roles in the classroom and also touch on the WIDA program. |

| November 21, 2024 | 5 pm – 6 pm | Math Workshop (Postponed): Curious about your child’s experiences during Math Workshop? Curious about the math strategies your child shares with you at home? Please join Barrett’s Math Coaches in the school library for an opportunity to engage with them and learn about math games strategies you could be using at home to expand their learning. |
| December 13, 2024 | 9:15 am – 10:20 am | Fall School-Family Partnership Meeting: Parents are invited to come learn about Barrett’ Title 1 program. A program that helps raise the academic achievement of every child that attends Barrett, but mainly those students whose families face greater financial hardships. |
