¡Hola a todos! Me llamo Emily Maldonado. This is my sixth year teaching at K.W. Barrett Elementary School. This year I will teach all non-heritage language learners grades K-5.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Spanish PK-12); both obtained at George Mason University. I am of Salvadoran and Chilean decent and was born and raised in the Arlington/Falls Church area. I enjoying traveling, going to concerts, salsa dancing and supporting local dog rescue groups.



¡Hola! I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of 11, I came to the United States and went to Randolph Elementary School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Wakefield High School. In 2004, I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Foreign Classical Languages and my credentials at the University of George Mason and Trinity respectively.  I am very excited to be part of the FLES (Foreign Language in the Elementary School) Spanish program here at Barrett Elementary School.
