Update: Due to rain, the event will now take place Wednesday May 21 from 4-5PM is the end of the season “5K” Run and you are invited to run, volunteer and/or celebrate our runners.

Dear Barrett Community – Barrett Runners will be having its end of season “5k run” on Wednesday, May 14 and all of you are more than invited to come run, volunteer and/or celebrate our runners.

This will be the longest distance they will run this school year, so please set aside some time to come cheer them on. A map of the route for this event will be posted Monday.

Time: The race will run from 4 pm to 5 pm, so please plan accordingly.

Where can I cheer the runners? You can cheer our runners at the starting line (front of the school by the bus lane), anywhere along the route itself or even at the finish line (on the school blacktop).Streets where we’ll run through:N. Henderson Road, Second Street North, North Pershing Drive, Arlington BLVD. Service Road, North Edison Street, North Granada Street, the Lubber Run Trail by the Amphitheater, North Columbus Street, 3rd Street North and Park Street North.

Your creativity is welcomed: If you do not plan to run, but will come out and spectate, then please consider making a sign on poster board to motivate our runners.  Dismissal /pick-up:Additionally, for parents /families of runners, please keep in mind that all children will be dismissed from the school blacktop. Therefore, please walk around the school when picking up your child to avoid having to wait for Extended Day personnel to open the front door for you. The best way to access the blacktop is either from the parking entrance or from Park Street.

Interested in volunteering? Please contact Alexa Papadimos (Barrett Parent) at [email protected] Alexa has been spearheading a ton this work with Elizabeth Halligan(Barrett Teacher) and they could use your help to uphold the continued success of this event.
