What a Day of Exciting Learning in Discovery Lab!

Wow! We had lots of action today in the Discovery lab! Lessons included:

  • Mrs. Nagle’s 3rd graders investigating about coal mining and non-renewable v. renewable resources.
  • Ms. Royston’s 4th graders learning about the successful, but dangerous Apollo 11 mission to the moon. The students used the engineering design process to create their own lunar lander, then watched a clip from the series, From the Earth To the Moon.
  • Mrs. Flores’ 1st graders and Mrs. McCarthy’s 2nd graders were robotic engineers and had the challenge of using ‘robotic arms’ to gather up ‘moon rocks’ on Discovery’s Moon Base!

Enjoy!
