On Friday students and teachers were treated to an engaging presentation about Mars. George Tahu, Program Executive of Mars and Lunar Exploration at NASA Headquarters, shared how NASA has explored Mars and what we have learned from the exploration. We were thrilled with all the interesting objects Mr. Tahu brought for us to see and touch: three different size wheels for the three different type rovers on Mars, a model of the Mars Science Lab (MSL) rover Curiosity, a rock (meteorite) from Mars, a rock from the moon, and different types of meteorites and lunar rock samples encased in plastic. We are fortunate that Mr. Tahu will return to Barrett in November to share with more students.
