day Space Shuttle Endeavour blasted off into the Florida night sky on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 7:55 pm. Mrs. Greene, Project Discovery Teacher, and Mrs. Rivera, 3rd grade teacher, were there live and upclose to witness this awesome event! It was so bright and loud, but a huge reminder of the human mind and spirit…continuous quest for knowledge and striving to bring harmony to make Earth the place we call home. (Look at the moon…it was a full moon, very orange and large as it rose over the Atlantic! Perfect for the occasion!) Please follow www.nasa.gov for details regarding STS-126, this current mission to building a new interior aboard the International Space Station! Lots of exciting things happening up in space–spiders are growing webs aboard the Station, the Station is 10 years old, more technologies! Also, please check our Barrett Blog for updates! (By the way, Mrs. Greene and Mrs. Rivera had a ‘blast’…no pun intended!)
