Kindergarten students learned about the U.S. missions to the moon. We watched an Apollo 11 video created by previous Barrett students, Milayka and Jesse. Then the students rotated through centers:
- Read moon books in the space capsule tent
- Pick up pretend moon rocks with a special tool
- Try on Flight Suits – Photo opportunity!
- Dress an astronaut in spacesuit on the SMART Board
- Smile for the camera behind the astronaut cutouts with the moon landscape
- Role play with models (toys) of astronauts, rockets, and lunar rovers
- Launch stomp rockets to the moon and record data on a graph
