It was fun to take a trip down memory lane with the Kindergarten students. The students learned about Barrett’s selection as the first elementary NASA Explorer School in Virginia. We watched a music DVD showing special opportunities, lessons, exhibits, speakers that have occurred since Barrett became a NASA Explorer School. We talked about the upcoming Family NASA Explorer School Celebration and Science Discovery Fair on Thursday, February 24 from 6 – 8PM. We love that the shuttle DISCOVERY is set to launch on the same day as our special event! Robonaut’s twin (Robonaut is aboard the shuttle Discovery waiting for launch) sent a tweet to Dr. Sullivan, “In case you missed it you can watch the episode of Modern Marvels online. I’m near the end of the episode – http:/t.co/KFjeh04 ” (go to 40:40). We watched the section with Robonaut (see photos below) and were very impressed!! If you watch at home, skip ahead to 40:40.
