The second graders learned about LRO during a videoconference with WALL-E and Dr. Marci Delaney from Goddard Space Flight Center. Mrs. Sullivan submitted Barrett Elementary School’s name to be on the LRO when it is launched later this year. Connor’s name is on the Kepler Space Telescope that was launched last month, March 2009. Barrett students….maybe you and your family can submit your name to go on a future Mars Mission! There is a shuttle launch (STS-125) planned for May 2009. Astronauts will add new equipment to the Hubble. Mrs. Sullivan and her son Jackson voted in March where Hubble should point its telescope next. Our choice won! Check it out! All second graders will be making models of the Hubble Space Telescope.
