Virginia Landscape by Fourth Grade

After studying the five regions of Virginia in social studies, fourth grade students explored landscape paintings of our state by various artists. They chose a region of Virginia to paint, and were encouraged to add geographic features commonly found in that region. Students learned how to create depth by including a horizon line and using size, placement, overlapping and painting techniques in their landscape.
