On October 24th, our fifth graders visited Patuxent Wildlife Refuge to extend their learning about nature and our national wildlife refuge system. Students participated in a tram ride, hike with nature photography, and viewing of many informative exhibits about the refuge. Below are some of the many pictures students took while at the refuge. Their photography skills were outstanding! We will be incorporating more photography skills in nature as the year continues. Element of Photography Design: Lines, Worms’ Eye View
Reflection…what do you think of when viewing this photograph?
Why would a tree be cut down in this forest habitat?
A hawk…a predator looking for its prey…what do you think it found?
Low grasses at the edge of the pond….would a prescribed fire burn be best for this location at Patuxent?
