DSC04567 Today second grade students videoconferenced with Rachel Power from the NASA Digital Learning Network (DLN) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. We were so excited when WALL-E joined us! We discussed spacesuits and why they are important for astronauts to wear in space. We compared and contrasted the Saturn V rocket that went to the moon, the space shuttle that carried astronauts to the International Space Station, and the new Space Launch System (SLS). It was really interesting to hear about recent and current moon missions like LRO, LCROSS, and GRAIL. The students were excellent learners and asked Ms. Power many questions.DSC04565 DSC04457 Moon.NASA.Gov LRO – http://lro.gsfc.nasa.gov/ http://lcross.arc.nasa.gov/ GRAIL http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/grail/main/index.html DSC04455DSC04462DSC04463DSC04465DSC04466DSC04467DSC04475DSC04480 Photos from the videoconference – http://www.flickr.com/photos/projectdiscovery/sets/72157633381209961
