Check out the praying mantis in the Discovery Lab As we continue our Insect unit, the students are learning about insect life cycles and habitats. The students compared and contrasted the life cycles of the honeybee (4 stages/complete metamorphosis) and the praying mantis (3 stages/partial or incomplete metamorphosis). The students are encouraged to exclaim “interesting” instead of “ewwww” as they observe the newly hatched baby mantis (nymphs) and the adult praying mantis.
