Leila Vega

Hello!! My name is Leila Vega and  I am excited to begin another school year here at K.W. Barrett as a special education teacher. I have been working in Arlington County Public Schools since 1999. I began as an Extended Day supervisor, then moved into working in the classroom while working on my education degrees. I was an instructional assistant for 5 years and then began my teaching career here at Barrett in 2018. I was born and raised here in Arlington, Va. I am a proud K.W. Barrett alumni!! I then attended Kenmore and graduated from Washington-Lee high school. I have an associates degree in child development from Northern Virginia Community College. I completed my bachelors degree in special education at George Mason University and this year I will  be completing my masters in Curriculum and Instruction of diverse young learners. I enjoy reading, going to concerts, music theater, and watching sports (Go Nats, United, Caps, and Commanders!!!) I also enjoy staying active and workout at an MMA gym learning Muay Thai.
