I am happy to collaborate with my amazing colleagues in 2nd grade team to support students’ development of academic and content language! Before joining Barrett in 2019, I worked as a consultant in teacher professional development (both face to face and online) and in conducting research, standards-writing, curriculum development, and all things English Learning-related. Previously, I taught in Alexandria (ACPS) for 12 years, mainly with K-5 students, and spent a combined three years in China and Vietnam on English Language fellowships teaching and teacher training. I earned my Masters degree in the art of teaching at the School for International Training (SIT). I also have a B.A. in International Relations and a French minor. I am particularly interested in the art of co-teaching and collaboration, action research and developing academic language in content areas. I’m thrilled to be in Arlington and part of the Barrett community that both supports and celebrates its diverse community of ELs and their families.
