Hello, I’m Erin Stansel! I am a Northern Virginia native who has been teaching kindergarten at Barrett since the 2016-2017 school year.
I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 with a BIS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a Psychology minor. I received my Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University in 2016. While I completed my master’s program, I was an assistant in a special education preschool classroom within Arlington Public Schools. I am currently completing a postgraduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis at George Mason University in hopes of obtaining a national certification in behavior analysis in 2021. I have been working with children and their families since 2009, and I couldn’t be happier or more passionate about the education field and my work.
I enjoy traveling with my husband, reading (especially books about family dynamics or modern psychology), immersing myself in other cultures, staying active, and of course, spending lots of time with my big, lovable, Bernese Mountain Dog, Truman.
It is a pleasure to be part of the Barrett family and I can’t wait for another amazing year of teaching! @KW
