Saturday Garden Work Day March 16

Hello Barrett Families,We are excited to extend an invitation to all families of K.W. Barrett Elementary to participate in our upcoming Garden Work Day! This event is a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to the beautification and functionality of our school garden.

During this event, we will be engaging in various activities to improve and maintain our garden. Depending on the number of volunteers, tasks will include weeding, organizing garden tools, and preparing the soil for our upcoming planting season. Whether you have a green thumb or are new to gardening, your participation will make a real difference!

We believe that this work day will not only enhance the appearance of our school but also serve as a meaningful and educational experience for both parents and students. It’s a great way to show our children the value of community involvement and environmental stewardship.

Volunteers who bring their children to this event MUST be in close proximity to them at all times.

Please note that we will be determining specific tasks based on the number of participants, so your RSVP is greatly appreciated. To assist us in planning, kindly sign up through https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904044DA5AC2D6-47810363-kw#/

Questions or inquires can be forwarded to Mark Blacknell (mb@blacknell.net) or Katheryn Kazior (katheryn.kazior@gmail.com).

Remember to dress in comfortable clothing and wear close-toed shoes. We have a lot of kid-sized gloves and garden tools, but you’re welcome to bring along any gardening tools you might have (just don’t forget to take them home, lest the tools that get added to our inventory).

We’ll have water on hand – and fingers crossed for warm weather.  We’re looking forward to seeing many of you there and working together to make our school garden a beautiful and productive space. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community!
