During Winter Break we are revisiting some of our favorite posts about resources for you and your family. Some of the dates may have changed for some of the resources so follow the links to see updated information.

Breaking news: We didn’t know this until Mr. D’Addario told us – The Butterfly Pavilion is FREE on Tuesdays. The museum is open every day of the year except December 25.

Have you ever seen a live tarantula? Have you ever seen a live tarantula capture its’ prey and eat it? You can, if you visit the Insect Zoo at the National Museum of Natural History. They feed one of their tarantulas almost every day and you can see it in person. The cost is free.

This takes place in the live Insect Zoo. There are lots of things to explore and see at the Insect Zoo. Look for the Honeypot Ants, urban bees, and hissing cockroaches.
