The National PTA Reflections Contest is a great way to encourage creativity and the arts in our Barrett students! This year’s theme is “Look Within” and submissions will be considered in two age groups – grades K-2 and grades 3-5. The deadline for submission of entries is November 5, 2019.
- The winner of each category and age group will win a $20 Target gift card!
- Kids in K-5 can enter in the following six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature (poetry/short story), music (original composition vocal or instrumental), photography and/or visual arts (drawing, painting or sculpture.
- Visual Art and Photography entries are submitted in physical form in the Barrett Library, and others are submitted digitally (dance/film) or as an audio recording (mp3 or mp4 – easily done on phone/tablet.) Full rules are available at https://www.vapta.org/programs/arts-and-education/reflections-top.
- County-wide awards by category and age group are presented at a ceremony at Washington-Liberty High School in January, and can move on to Regional and National competitions.
Please forward any questions and digital submissions to Ms. Sandra Jacobs at firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries are due October 25rd to the box in the Barrett Library; hard copies of entry forms will also be available starting this week in the Barrett Library in English and Spanish.
